Bayonet is in good condition with a semi-bright surface. It’s overall length is approx. 18.75 inches.
This bayonet is heavier and thicker than its predecessor, the Model 1795. The socket measures just over 3.00 inches in length and has a bridged mortise and a thick neck.
The blade itself meas. approx. 15.25 inches long x 1.00 inch wide at the base.
Blade has a bright surface with only light scattered mottling. There are no visible markings.
The top of the neck, just below the socket, has a number “3” stamped on a piece of silver metallic tape. [ad]
