Hilt is cast brass. Grip is ribbed and is notched on top for attaching to bayonet lug. Locking mechanism is button and bar type and is a little worn from use. Counterguard has quillon on one end and barrel ring on the other. Top of barrel ring is stamped “594.” The blade is dark with heavy discoloration from age. Mottling is heavier on one side. Ricasso has some very light pitting and no visible markings. Blade edge is good as is false edge. This is the bayonet only, there is no scabbard.
