[To see this exact sword, see Harold Peterson’s THE AMERICAN SWORD [1954], p.76, fig. 67] Straight slender, single-edged blade with single broad fuller & false edge, measuring 31.75”. The first third of the blade is blued, with gilt floral designs, ending in a decorative scroll. Exhibits patches of light & slight pitting. Gilt eagle-head hilt assembly is slightly loose. Reverse “P” knuckle-bow, with cross-guard langet and quillon terminating in eagle head. Ivory grip, horizontally ribbed, with one fine-line vertical crack.

Metal scabbard is silver plated, with two carrying rings and belt-frog stud. Exhibits scratching, minor dings, and a mellow light yellowing tarnish. Else VG, and highly attractive. And Notable! [This is the first sword we’ve seen that appeared 60 years ago in Harold Peterson’s THE AMERICAN SWORD!]
