Unmarked import, with oval blade measuring 29.5" in length, and .75" in width at hilt. The obverse frosting features panoply of arms and "Medical Department." in 3" lettering, followed by floral pattern. Reverse frosting features floral patterns, followed by cross shield & stand of spears within wrapped flag, then floral pattern. Blade three exhibits three minor dings near hilt; else near pristine.
Hilt is fine brass, elaborately and crisply cast, with ferrule. The verse languet features gilt "MS" with 6 stars, while the reverse features a finely grained blank. Upper grip displays two finely cast eagles within ovals on opposite sides, topped by large acorn. All hilt work being absolutely mint.
Scabbard features throat and three exquisite mounting, along with unusual gilt wash. Upper mount has double rings, and the middle mount one. Drag exhibits plain ears, and oak leaves with acorns, as do the upper mounts, as with the hilt, the gilt mounts are spectacular. Overall condition, fine plus.
