Serial number 33477. Top of the breech marked, “MODEL 1865 / SPENCER REPEATING / RIFLE CO. BOSTON, MASS / PATD MARCH 6, 1860.” Some parts marked with single letter inspection marks. Left side of the stock behind the saddle ring bar has a single cartouche, “ESA”, for Erskine S. Allin, master armorer.
Very fine condition, barrel retains original blue finish fading to a smooth plum patina. The framer and receiver have a smooth gray patina with case colors visible on the frame and receiver. The wood stock is in very good condition with some minor wear. Mechanically perfect! All parts original to the firearm. [ws]
