Full box of cartridges for the 12 millimeter Lefaucheux pinfire revolver. Civil War-era paste-board box with green label that reads, “FABRIQUE DE BALLES ET CARTOUCHES 25 Revolvers Cartouches Lefaucheux de 12 millimetres.” These were manufactured by Charles Fusnot in Belgium. Package has been opened. 24 cartridges are inside the box nestled in saw dust; I do not see where a 25th cartridge would even fit. Perhaps it was a typo or perhaps it was an 1860s scam to save the company money. Regardless, here is a full box of cartridges packed in sawdust. The label is complete but has moderate “rubs” on the face amid the printing. The lid of the box has several splits along the folded top edges, but the overall strength and integrity of the box is still very good. [jet]
