WILMOT’S PATENT RIFLE MUSKET TOMPION

$75.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 33-284

This rifle tompion is in excellent condition. Tompions were placed in the muzzle of a weapon to keep dirt and moisture out of the barrel. Constructed of brass with cork and wool, this was for the .58 caliber rifled muskets of the era. “Patented Nov. 24, 1863” is crisply marked on the top disk. In perfect condition.

Very nice example of the most desirable of the Civil War period patent tompions.  [jet]
