Maker-mark: “N.P. Ames” & date, “1845”, stamped on upper lid near spot.  Measures 9.125” in overall length, w/ “USN” in .5” lettering, and 3.25” anchors, stamped on both sides. Brass strap hooks on both sides. Flask exhibits light coppery tone w/a few minor dings. Else VG & highly attractive. Scarce USN w/anchors.  [JP]
