This pretty, pistol size powder flask has an unembossed, blued copper body with brass collar and adjustable spout. The body has no dents or open seams. The brass retains its original bright finish, the spring has a lustrous blue, and the maker stamp is crisp, reading, “DIXON & SONS / SHEFFIELD.” The body shows some narrow bright metal along the seam from natural wear to high spots, and has some thinning to the blue on lower, thickest part of the body from handling, but the color overall is good.
The thumbpiece is there and the spring is functional. This would go well with a percussion pocket pistol, even a very nice one in a cased set. [sr]
