Used in the post-Civil War period, this specimen is a 56.52 bottlenecked case Spencer cartridge. In good condition, this .52 caliber specimen has a casing of thin copper or brass with the wider base that bottlenecks to the conical bullet with a flat head. An unusual example of a Spencer metallic cartridge.
