Offered is a single action colt that was manufactured in 1883. It is a 6-shot .45-caliber revolver. The 4 3/4-inch barrel is marked COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, Ct. U.S.A. in a single line. On the left side are the patent date markings, which have three lines of 1871, 1872 and 1875. Trigger guard is marked 45 Cal. Grips are varnished walnut. Serial number 88602is stamped on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Gate is stamped 6938.

Metal has been heavily cleaning and some very minor pitting. Finish has a nice look and Markings are light but visible except for part of the barrel markings. Grips are worn but no cracks. Edges are rounded from use. Bore is bright with good rifling but has some pitting. Finish is a dusky gunmetal gray throughout. Working order. Nice example of a Colt pistol that was probably used in the west.
