Serial Number “87208”, which dates the piece to 1858. All numbers matching, all parts original, exhibiting standard characteristics. Seven and a half inch, .36 caliber  octagonal barrel. Walnut grips. Six round cylinder exhibits standard etching of a Texas/ Mexican naval battle. Top barrel marking: “ADDRESS Saml Colt Hartford CT”. Markings crisp with light wear. Iron work & cylinder exhibit dark patina with traces of light pitting. Brass trigger guard & back-strap patina worn partially off.  Barrel bore clean with patch of light pitting on front end.  Cylinder indexing & action near flawless. Grips display slight wear round the butt edge, along with moderate nicks & consistent with age & usage. Else VG & attractive, especially with tight action.
