One thousand produced between 1859-62. 1st model, 32 Caliber rim-fire, 6 shot revolver; 3.25” octagonal barrel with markings: “Allen & Wheelock Worchester Mass / Allen’s Patent Sept. Sept. 7., 1858.”. Features a mortised front sight & and an abrupt dropped-grip profile. Also an etched cylinder scene of dogs chasing rabbits. Grips walnut.

In condition, the barrel markings are moderately crisp and the metal works exhibits a consistent patina with slight pitting. Cylinder scene displays one small blotch. Grips show slight wear consistent with age and usage. Cocking and indexing mechanism crisp and functional. Bore dusty & moderately rusty. Else VG. In all an attractive piece, and definitely collectible.   [jp]
