KETLAND/LONDON SINGLE SHOT PERCUSSION PISTOL WITH BRASS “CANNON” BARREL

$375.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: G3727

Single shot pistol with an interesting brass “cannon” style barrel approximately 3” long. The barrel has the “swell” at the muzzle and is marked at the left side of the breech with a worn, oval proof mark and “LONDON.” Right side marked “KETLAND”. Weapon is smoothbore so there are no sights. Bore measures approximately .50 caliber, so may have fired a patched .44 caliber round ball. Brass shows minor wear.

Pistol is a percussion gun and has original nipple. Iron hammer, trigger, and trigger guard. There is no half-cock but it does hold at full and falls properly. Grip shows heavy wear and may have been shaped to fit a particular hand.  [jet]
