RARE US ARMY MODEL 1861 PERCUSSION SIGNAL PISTOL

$5,250.00 SOLD
Originally $6,250.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 490-1682

One of the estimated 500 manufactured by William Marston of New York. All brass construction except for the hammer, nipple and cartridge tension lever. It is constructed of two halves secured together with two screws. The pistol utilized the Coston Light System of flares. The flare did not propel into the air but rather burned while affixed to the pistol. “U.S. Army Signal / A.J.M. 1861” forward of the trigger. Number “240” stamped on the brass at the tension lever recess. The brass has a wonderful patina with one area on top as if it were used as a hammer. Extremely desirable and rare!  [ss]
