Caliber .69 smoothbore. All metal parts iron, with 42" barrel secured by barrel-band. Lock marking: Eagle motif/ "US", "Harper's Ferry/ 1849." Barrel marking: "AR/P", "VP"/ Eagle; Tang and butt markings: "1849" and "US". All markings lightly worn, but entirely intelligible. All metal lightly but professionally cleaned, with some slight pitting visible on lockplate and in hammer area. Mechanics solid, but slightly sluggish. Bore dusty am medium bright. Stock exhibits a variety of light dings and bruises consistent with age and usage. The lettering "E.V." is visible carved in .75" lettering on left wrist to rear of sideplate, with a series of lightly scratched lettering on left side of comb. Else VG. Very solid Harper's Ferry '42 smoothbore. Nicely priced.
