$45.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13290

Stereo is on a yellow mount with “ARTISTIC STEREO GEMS OF GETTYSBURG SCENERY” on one edge and “PHOTOGRAPHED BY W. H. TIPTON GETTYSBURG, PA.” on the other.

The image was taken from the observation deck of the tower that once stood on East Cemetery Hill. The view is looking southwestward and takes in the Baltimore Pike in the foreground, the National Cemetery Gate and the in the distance, the Soldier’s National Monument. A close look among the trees just inside the gate will reveal the standing statue of Major General John F. Reynolds. The layout of the Soldier’s National Cemetery is also discernable.

Image has no number and caption but there is a small 743 in one corner of the view. The image is clear and clean and the contrast is excellent. Reverse has Tipton’s logo and an advertisement of his work.
