Very nice magic lantern slide showing Spangler’s Spring and the area around it. The spring is located at the base of Culp’s Hill and was an area used by both Union and Confederate soldier’s to obtain water during the hot days of battle at Gettysburg.
At the time this photo was taken the spring had two outlets as evidenced by the two stone covers in the photo. Today there is only one and the water is no longer potable.
Slide is glass and dates from about the 1920’s. It meas. approx. 4.00 x 3.25 and is in good clean, clear condition.
