Very nice early 20th Century souvenir plate of Spangler’s Spring.
The plate dates from about the 1920’s and is made with a gold border around the edge and a yellow face with a full color transfer of Spangler’s Spring at center. The reverse of the plate has a circular mark that reads “MADE IN BAVARIA.”
Spangler’s Spring is at the base of Culp’s Hill and was a main water source for soldiers of both sides who fought in this area. Later it was a favorite picnic site for veterans and tourists.
This plate is in very good clean condition and is free of nicks and chips.
