Slender oblong print measuring 61 x 7”. Mounted in period wood frame with card backing and hang-wire. Period Frame sticker: “Home Art Shop / S.M. Hefflefinger / 244 W. Philadelphia St., York, PA.” Photo contains some internal dust, with three slightly wavy spots. Else VG and crisp. Accompanied by “Peace Camp of Blue & Gray” information sheet.
This famed photo is a panoramic birds-eye view of the 5,000 tent veterans camp, taken from the Zieglers Grove Observation tower, looking down across the Emmitsburg Road. On the extreme left are the Codori buildings, which were passed by Pickett’s men in his famous charge. To their right can be seen the Virginia Memorial amid the tree line along Seminary Ridge. This photo is one of six panoramic 1913 Reunion photos. Fine Gettysburg collectible.
