TIPTON STEREO VIEW OF THE HARVEST OF DEATH

$125.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13336

Image is mounted on yellow stock with no wording in the border as is usually seen. Reverse has label titled “SIGHTS AND SCENES FROM THE BATTLEFIELD OF GETTYSBURG JULY 1ST, 2D AND 3D, 1863.” The body of the label lists the captions for Tipton image numbers 475-499 ½. Underlined is caption for this view # 492 “THE HARVEST OF DEATH.”

The view shows the famous “V” formation of Confederate bodies laid out for burial on the Rose farm. The contrast is good but not as sharp as it could be.

There is no caption on the front.
