Three piece New York coat button with an eagle perched on an Excelsior shield surrounded by stars and the word “EXCELSIOR” across the bottom. The face has a severe push but a good bit of the original gilt remains. Reverse has no shank and a near obliterated back mark. What can be seen shows it was a raised mark in a depressed channel.
