This relic was recovered by a local Gettysburg family (Gilbert) on their farm along the Taneytown Road after the battle of Gettysburg.

The item is a large iron horse harness hook. It meas. approx. 3.75 inches long and is covered with a light coat of surface rust. This is not something that was exposed to the elements for too long as the rust would be heavier if it was.
