This relic was recovered by a local Gettysburg family (Gilbert) on their farm along the Taneytown Road after the battle of Gettysburg.

The item is an iron musket tool meant for use on the Model 1841 “Mississippi” rifle. It has a heavy coat of surface rust throughout. Item is complete and solid.
