The relics were recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by John Cullison, a local Gettysburg resident, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959.

Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, who held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The items in the relic box include:

  1. CS Richmond Sharps .52 caliber bullet
  2. US Colt Army Bartholow .44 caliber bullet
  3. fired Spencer cartridge with fragment of case intact
  4. .36 caliber pistol bullet for Colt Navy
  5. three fired CS .58 caliber Gardner minie balls
  6. intact Spencer cartridge
  7. three fired and mushroomed US .58 caliber minie balls
  8. CS .577 Enfield with box wood plug still intact
  9. fired US .51 caliber Maynard Carbine bullet with part of case still intact
  10. CS manufactured Enfield .577 fired
