Relics were recovered on Pickett’s Charge field by John Cullison, a local Gettysburg resident, who excavated relics on the field from 1935-1959.

Cullison sold his collection to the famed Gettysburg Rosensteel family, who held these relics in their private collection until released in 1996.

The items in the relic box include: a rare CS Side Loader 10 pound case shot shell fragment from CS read (showing fuze threads), crude CS small iron case shot, fired CS Ringtail Sharps Carbine bullet, two Enfield .577 caliber bullets, US/CS 12 pound Spherical case shot shell fragment from Fuze Top, intact Williams Cleaner bullet, US .44 caliber Batholow bullet for Colt Army revolver, fragment of case from Spencer cartridge, two CS .58 caliber nose cast minie balls, Soldier’s camp knife, CS Read 3” shell fragment (showing fuze threads), two .58 caliber US minie balls, US/CS 10 pounder Parrott Shell fragment, two US .58 caliber Star in Base minie balls, fired US Sharps bullet, handmade CS .69 caliber musket ball with sprue, and a CS crude large iron case shot.
