US/CS 18 POUND SPHERICAL “GROUND BURST” SHELL

$325.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-3311

Two halves of a dug spherical shell that would have detonated upon hitting the ground. Fragments show moderate to heavy surface rust and pitting. The two pieces still fit together very well, and it is clear where the fuse plug was located in the shell. There is a hole drilled in one of the halves, perhaps from once being mounted. Location of recovery unknown.
