The Gettysburg Electric Railway was a trolley system that existed from September 1893 - November 1916. It ran from town and to different places on the battlefield. This ticket is marked in red ink, “THE GETTYSBURG ELECTRIC RAILWAY CO. ONE FIRST CLASS PASSAGE NATIONAL CEMETERY TO MEADE’S HEADQUARTERS, VOID IF DETACHED”. Front side of ticket has a photo of Meade’s Headquarters. Reverse of ticket features a closer view of Meade’s Headquarters and is labeled in red ink, “MEADE’S HEADQUARTERS”.
Ticket has yellowed with age but images are clear. Ticket was punched on the right side with a cross shaped hole punch.
