Uncleaned US Schenkl shell in dug condition. Remains of a zinc Schenkl combination fuse plug in fuse channel. Surface shows moderate rust and pitting. Recovered from the Gettysburg battlefield, on the Daniel Lady farm about 600 yards East of the barn, near Route 116 East.

This relic is part of the Iva Rosensteel-Rider collection. Mrs. Rider was the sister of George Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map museum in Gettysburg. Eventually, it became a part of the Rider collection in Gettysburg, which remained in the family until The Horse Soldier purchased the collection in June 2016.  [JT]
