Original printed invitation to the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg for a soldier named Henry Starr. The document is printed in black ink with a spread-winged eagle at top. Text reads:

THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES EXTENDS A CORDIAL INVITATION TO HENRY STARR A VETERAN OF THE WAR OF 1861-1865 TO ATTEND THE COMMEMORATION OF THE SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG JUNE TWENTY-NINTH TO JULY SIXTH NINETEEN HUNDRED THIRTY-EIGHT AT GETTYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA.”

Document is mostly clean with light staining and surface dirt. Item is framed in a nice modern dark brown faux-wood frame and is single matted. Item meas. approx. 13.50 x 15.00 inches.

There were 23 men named Henry Starr in the Union army and 4 in the Confederate army.  [ad]
