Found east of the Baltimore Pike. The unblemished plate face exhibits a rusty, plum colored patina. Reverse side retains all its arrow hook attachments, firmly seated, along with most of its lead backing, plus oxidation residue. Magnificent collectible from the Culp’s Hill side of Gettysburg.

This relic is part of the Iva Rosensteel-Rider collection. Mrs. Rider was the sister of Georg Rosensteel, who started the Electric Map museum in Gettysburg. Eventually, it became a part of the Rider collection in Gettysburg, which remained in the family until The Horse Soldier purchased the collection in June 2016.  [jp]
