RELIC ARTILLERY FRICTION PRIMER FROM GETTYSBURG

$79.50 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 173-2939

Excavated friction primer.  These were used to fire the cannons. They were placed in the cannon vent hole and a lanyard was hooked to the wire…a quick tug on the lanyard set off the primer and fired the cannon.  This is a complete, unfired primer in excellent “dropped” condition.  Nice patina.

This was recovered at the Wheatfield in Gettysburg.  It was acquired from the Lee’s Headquarters Museum collection.  [jet]
