This is a large pressed tin serving tray with rolled edge. Oval shape measuring approximately 16 ½” x 13 ½”. Front of tray features a colorful lithograph of the southern end of the Gettysburg battlefield. The view was copied from a photograph recorded from the Ziegler’s Grove observation tower. Entitled “General View of the Battlefield of Gettysburg, 1863.” The view includes many features that no longer exist: the observation tower on Big Round Top, Meade Avenue, and Webb Avenue. Marked “Compliments of W. M. Walker & Co.” This company was a wholesale whiskey distributor located in York, PA between 1890 and 1918.
There are a very few minor scratches and small paint chips; most are around the outside edge. Overall condition is very good and this is a rare, large size souvenir tray. [jet]
