Arranged by John B. Bachelder, this book is a key to a painting of “Pickett’s Charge” by James Walker.

The volume was published by John B. Bachelder in New York in 1870. It meas. approx. 9.25 x 6” and runs 94 pages. The volume has 14 steel engravings of Meade, Doubleday, Howard, Hancock, Hunt, Gibbon, Stannard, Hayes, Humphreys, Birney, Hall, Webb, Newton and Eliakim Sherrill. Page edges are gilted. Binding is tight.

Green buckram binding, with gilt “GETTYSBURG” lettering and gilt geometrical decoration on both covers. Spine is excellent. Very good condition overall.

The text describes the battle as well as the Union Generals and their part as depicted in the painting. Back of the book has a fold out black and white key of the painting.
