Here is an original 4.52” solid shot. Would have been fired from a 12-pounder smoothbore cannon. Shot rounds such as this were usually fired to ricochet from one target to another causing extensive damage. This ball is in excellent condition. “GETTYSBURG” in white paint and an old typed label taped in place. Label states that it was recovered from the Trostle Farm. It was purchased by Bob Jones from the Lee’s Headquarters Museum in 1939.
A very nice Gettysburg relic. [jet]
