Piece of charred wood was recovered from the Gettysburg Battlefield. It was likely from either the Sherfy or Bliss Farms, as they were the only barns that burned during the battle. A round ball is securely lodged in the wood. “GETTYSBURG” is hand inscribed in pencil on one side.
Wood measures 5” long by 1 ¾” wide by 1 ½” high. Very solid with no cracks. [SL]
