Vintage souvenir is stamped, “U.S. MAIL FROM GETTYSBURG, PA.” Bag is made of muslin with leather bands sewn at the top. Bands have punched holes and leather string to tie bag closed. Yellow paper tag is tied onto leather with original string. Tag has an image of a Civil War Soldier and reads, “MAY THIS LITTLE BAG WITH A VIEW OR TWO LESSEN THE MILES BETWEEN ME AND YOU”. Reverse side is a mailing label which shows writing.

Inside of bag are four black and white views- the Eternal Peace Light, High Water Mark Monument, Lincoln Speech Memorial and the Soldier’s National Monument. Views measure 1 ¾” by 2 ¾”. Both bag and images show light spotting from age.  [sl]
