Vintage black and white photo was taken by famed photographer Walter Lane, who opened a studio in 1947 on 34 York Street in Gettysburg. Lane photographed President Eisenhower in this studio. The subject matter of this photograph is McCauslin Auto Sales, a Dodge-Plymouth dealer,  located at the corner of York and Stratton Streets in Gettysburg.  This was the previous location of Eddie Plank's garage, the baseball player from Gettysburg.  One can view the new cars lined up at the front and on the side of the building.

Photograph is mounted in a black mat. Open area of mat measures 7.50 by 9.25. Photo shows a light smudge at the top right. Image is very clear with excellent contrast. Mat has a paper label reading, "DODGE - PLYMOUTH 1949".

This is a great piece of history for an auto enthusiast or a vintage Gettysburg collector.   [sl]
