Cabinet card photo of the monument at Jennie Wade's grave is mounted in a decorative cardstock frame. Embossed wreath encircles image. Lower right corner is embossed with photographer's mark, "W.H. TIPTON 3 MAIN ST. GETTYSBURG, PA".
Jennie Wade was the only civilian killed during the battle of Gettysburg. Her grave is at the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. Wording on her monument reads, "JENNIE WADE / AGED 20 YRS, 2 MO / KILLED JULY 3, 1863 WHILE MAKING BREAD FOR THE UNION SOLDIERS". [sl]
