This very rare excavated iron front Sharpshooter’s sight was issued with the U.S. Model 1855 Harper’s Ferry Rifle. Seldom seen in today’s collecting market, housed in the iron patch box. Recovered at the 1st Day’s fight, west of Gettysburg near Reynold’s Woods and Gettysburg Country Club by Ed Miller.
Recovered by lifelong local resident Ed Miller, an individual who is well known to the Small family. Mr. Miller was an active relic hunter from the 1960's into the 1980's.
