This button and ribbon commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The event was held in Gettysburg on July 3 and 4, 1923.
The commemorative badge has a brass framed button with a lithograph image of two soldiers shaking hands over a cannon. Below the image reads, “THE BOYS OF ‘61”. The original pin is present on reverse. Suspended from the button is a red, white, and blue ribbon with gilt lettering.
The ribbon measures 3.5” long, is very fragile, and shows signs of fraying. [mk]
