Red ribbon meas. approx. 2.00 x 4.50 inches. The color has faded some as has the black lettering that reads “COMPANY A 12 ILINOIS CAVALRY.”
Bottom of the ribbon has gold bullion tape and tassels.
Top bar is stamped brass with original pin on the reverse. Bar holds a name tag with “HENRY MUCK” written on it.
Henry Muck enlisted as a Private in Company A, 12th Illinois Cavalry on January 19, 1862. He became a reenlisted veteran on February 28, 1864 and at some undisclosed date he was captured. He was mustered out at Houston, Texas May 29, 1866. [ad]
