Colorful testimonial “presented by Comrade McIlwain to his wife Mattie E. and daughter Bertha K. Dettinger Aug 1909”. Meas. 22” x 28”. Very fine condition in the original walnut stained frame. Large colorful eagle with flags at top. Battle scenes and other colorful motifs throughout. Center section filled in with his detailed history. Enlisted from Adams County, PA on Feb. 28, 1865. He was discharged on June 2, 1865 at New Bern, NC.   [ss]

Note: Frame contains glass. Special care is required in the shipment of framed items, both modern and vintage.  Because this item has glass in the frame, we would prefer to disassemble the backing in order to remove the glass.  This means that the backing and the glass will be removed and the frame will be shipped without the glass; it is the customer's responsibility to replace it if desired and have the backing put back on.  Any frame shop should be able to do this for you.

Extra shipping required:  $35.00 insured UPS east of the Mississippi, $50.00 west of the Mississippi.
