This CDV is a fine specimen of early photography and shows a young, unarmed, unidentified Civil War infantryman seated in a photographer’s studio. The boy-soldier looks directly at the camera while his right arm rests on a small table at his side and his left hand rests on his left knee. This soldier wears a dark infantry-style greatcoat with a unbuttoned cape, a buttoned great coat with a fold down collar and dark colored trousers. Soldier is clean-shaven and poses with a intent look on his face as he sits for the picture. CDV has a back mark of “CRITCHERSON & LELAND” from Worcester, Massachusetts. Image is clean and free of blemishes. A very nice Civil War soldier CDV image. [RA]
