CDV is a three- quarter sitting view of Martin L. Jordan. He is wearing a dark colored frock coat, and light colored trousers.

The reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “CLAFLIN’S PHOTOGRAPHIC GALLERY, WORCHESTER, MASS.”.

Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with time.

Martin L. Jordan was born in Brookfield, MA. He enlisted on December 28, 1863, at the age of 18, as a Private. He is described at the time of enlistment as 5’11”, light complexion, blue eyes, and light hair. On January 11, 1864 he was mustered into Co. “H”, 57th MA Infantry. He was listed as absent on May 1, 1864 for illness, and died of disease on May 31, 1864 in Washington, D.C.   [sh]
