Image is clear with good contrast. Very light surface dirt or smudges are present.
George W. Shiver was a resident of Philadelphia PA. At the age of 21 years he enlisted on 8/15/1862 as a private. On 8/15/1862 he mustered into Co. “B’, 119th PA Infantry. He received the following promotions: Corporal 1/12/1863, Sergt. 9/1/1863, 1st Lieut. 7/25/1864. He was listed as wounded 4/2/1865 at Petersburg, VA (Severe wound in right foot, amputated). He was discharged for wounds on 5/28/1865. [sl]
