Set of hanging gold balance scales in wooden case. Case is in very good condition with original hook and ring are present. Case measures 6 ¾” x 3 ¼” x 1 ¼” while closed.
Pans are made of brass and measure approx. 2 ½” in circumference. One pan is attached to a 6” brass balance bar by a thin brown cord. Other pan is not attached. The bar has a hook from which the scale could be suspended. Included are two small tins which contain several small brass weights and an Indian head penny dated 1906. Patina on brass is dark.
This is a nice piece of history complete in original case. [sm]
