18th CENTURY DELFT DRUG JAR

$550.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 909-69

English Delftware tin-glazed pottery jar features the Latin medical name, “U D ALTHAE” in a cartouche label flanked by birds and leaves. This was for the herb althea, or the marshmallow plant. Jar has an area on the back with small cracks and chips at the foot rim and top rim, which are typical and acceptable with collectors because of use and age.

Measures 7 ¼” high x 4 ¼” at the base. [SM]
