Maker markings on front flap: “B. Kittredge & Co., Cin. O./ Patented Jan 27, 1863/ Issued Apl. 14, 1863.” Tapered, rounded brass shell, 1.75” width, 3” in depth, 4.125” in length. Spring loaded brass flap, two reverse brass belt loops. Interior exhibits deep tarnish, outer shell displays medium dark coppery patina. Else VG. These Kitteridge Company cartridge containers were used with Frank Wesson rifle, and famous Henry rifle. Scarce.
