This oval Pattern 1839 “US” cartridge box plate is in good condition. The face has a light patina but much of the original finish still shows through. It is free of scratches dings or dents. Reverse has 100% of the lead fill and both loops. Between the loops the lead is stamped “W. H. SMITH, BROOKLYN” in two lines. The last half of the word “BROOKLYN” is weak. Overall it is a very nice maker marked plate.
